Rebecca Wood is a writer from the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. In December 2016, she earned her BA in English, Creative Writing from Arizona State University. Immediately following her graduation, she committed to a year of service with AmeriCorps VISTA at a rural school district in a small northern town of Arizona. There she finally fell in love with her home state so of course after her term ended decided to move to Alaska in pursuit of an MFA. This past May 2021, Rebecca received her MFA in Fiction from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks where she served as the Fiction Editor for Permafrost Literary Magazine. She is new to publishing her work, but received Honorable Mention in the AWP Intro Journal Awards 2021 for her short story “Ain’t No Glory for Billy” and has pieces forthcoming. Rebecca loves the West and writes fiction and poetry, mostly about the desert places of her home.
